William Pretorius, trading as Blackwell Software Solutions, is responsible for personal information collected through this website. Blackwell is based in Scotland.
Information collected
If you use the project enquiry form or send an email, Blackwell may receive your name, email address, organisation, project details, budget range, preferred timing and anything else you choose to include.
Why it is used
This information is used to respond to your enquiry, assess whether Blackwell can help, prepare a proposal where requested and keep a record of project discussions. The usual legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract or Blackwell’s legitimate interest in responding to genuine business enquiries.
Form processing
The enquiry form is processed by Formspree, a third party form service. Its systems receive the information you submit so it can be delivered to Blackwell. You can avoid the form and email Blackwell directly if you prefer.
Sharing and retention
Information is not sold. It is shared only with service providers needed to operate communications or deliver agreed work, or where required by law. Enquiries that do not become projects are normally deleted within 12 months. Contract, payment and project records may be kept longer where there is a legal or legitimate business reason.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To ask a question or exercise a right, email contact@blackwellsoftwaresolutions.co.uk. You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Project agreements
Any paid work will be governed by a separate written proposal, statement of work or contract. That document will set out the agreed scope, price, payment schedule, responsibilities, timescale, ownership or licensing arrangements and support.
Intellectual property
Unless a project agreement states otherwise, the content and visual design of this website belong to Blackwell Software Solutions. Project ownership is agreed in writing. Client data remains the client’s. Blackwell may retain reusable underlying methods, knowledge and components while granting the licence needed to use the delivered work. Exclusive ownership or transfer can be agreed separately.
Accuracy and external services
Reasonable care is taken to keep this website accurate, but information may change. Blackwell is not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of third party websites and services linked from or used by this site.
Accessibility statement
Blackwell aims to make this website clear and usable across common devices, browsers and input methods. The site uses semantic headings, visible form labels, keyboard focus styles, responsive layouts, reduced motion support and a skip link.
